Broken Promises

"Promises are like babies. Easy to make. Hard to deliver." People make promises all the time. From the Oval Office to the neighbor next door. The experiences during my life has taught me to never believe someone when they make you a promise. I could be called a pessimist, but I'm sure I am not the only person who feels the same way. We should always keep our word and never make promises we don't intend to keep. It leads to people becoming enemies, broken hearts, and it also ends friendships as well. Don't get me wrong. I have broken my share of promises, but as of late, I have made an internal decision to do better. I will no longer make promises that I know I can't deliver on. So please don't be upset if you ask me for a favor and I say no. I'm just on the road to self improvement and I can't afford to turn back now. And what about you? Are you ready? There is always room for one more. :-)

  1. I feel the same way! I've learned that if you don't expect anything, you won't be disappointed, and if you make a promise to someone, by all means keep that promise no matter what. It sucks to have to tell people no, but I'd rather someone tell me no than say they will do something and then come back and renege on it. I understand that things happen, but people will say they will do something even knowing right then that they have no intention on doing it. SMH.
